About The Backpack Project
The Backpack Project, Inc. is a student-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2015. Volunteers pack backpacks of food, toiletries, and clothing and hand them to people experiencing homelessness. They also connect people to local homeless-service providers.
Chapters, company packings, and Homeless Heroes Day in Atlanta are how the work happens. In 2023 the organization distributed $62,692 in supplies. It has delivered 18,000+ backpacks since 2015. Learn more at thebackpackproject.org.
